There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Amanda is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Brazil. She is a fan of Golden Child and more particularly of SeungMin! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? Hello! My name is Amanda (@sminiexz on twitter), I’m 25 years old and I’m from Brazil. How and when did you enter the fandom? I met Golden Child in the Woollim Boys era, and I’ve been following them since pre debut. I started to like them at the first sight and created Golden Child Brazil to update Brazilian fans about Golden Child’s news. What are the reasons why you love your favorite group? I started to like K-Pop since 2010, but Golden Child simply attacked my attention at the first sight, they are a unique group. Besides their talent they’re so funny and have a close relationship with their fans, talking about everything with Goldenness. I had the pleasure of being at a Golcha’s fansign (‘Let Me’ era) and they treated me so well despite my nervousness. Who caught your attention at first and why? As I started to stan them before the official lineup, the oldest members, like DaeYeol, captured my attention at first. Who is your bias, and why? My bias is SeungMin. He captured my attention because of his voice. He has such a kind personality and is so cutie with Goldenness. Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans? For title track, my favorite is also ‘Burn It’. The vocal harmony is amazing. For a B-side I will recommend, my favorite song which is ‘All Day’, it is a soft ballad talking about how hard is daily life but we need to keep going on. Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers? JooChan also has a radio on VLIVE called 주빛나, where he recommends songs, sings and talk with Goldenness about specific topics. It is cute to see him having fun. For fancams, I recommend the ‘Rapampam’ Era ones.
Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group? Everything that Golden Child has ever participated is very funny, and I would recommend every reality show since pre-debut. They are a very unique group and funny guys. Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? They have such great lyrics but my favorite will always be ‘All Day’, ‘Thank You’ and ‘Milky Way’. They have a deep meaning from Golden Child to with their fans. Another b-side track composed by YoungTaek (TAG), called ‘Oasis’, is so great too. This song have a perfect meaning, is like a letter from TAG to Golden Child’s members. Are there any words from the members you would like to share? They’re always supportive with Goldenness and always share thoughts to help us. They are one of the most doing individual vlive with more than hour just to talk with Goldenness. What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life? Four of Golden Child members waited more than six years to have their debut. So they always talked about believing in ourselves and in our dreams and how we can do everything we want. What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying? I like to think that being a fan is to have someone else to care and love and not wishing much in return. But we have another side to look, when it’s a sad and tiredness days… Just to listening their songs or and just watching them on YouTube make our day 100% better. Is there particular information that you want to say to new fans because they mostly don’t know about it? About the rookie days, Golden Child’s members used to make appearance in MVs or Stages of their Sunbaes. First DaeYeol appearance in a TV SHOW was in INFINITE’s reality show called “Sesame Player” in 2011. DaeYeol also starred in Key (SHINee) and WooHyun (INFINITE) [unit - toheart] MV (2014). Some of oldest members of Golden Child were INFINITE backdancers. BoMin starred at Lovelyz MV “Now, We”. Do you have a dream subunit/unit? I would really like to see a SeungMin & JooChan subunit and also a unit between DaeYeol and SungYeol would be soooo cool. If you go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign? I attended Golden Child fansign in 2018 (‘LET ME’ era).. I had an amazing experience with all 10 boys and I realized how beautiful is Golden Child’s relationship with Goldenness. So now I wanted to have the experience of going to a concert. Because of the pandemic, I attended the online concert and could feel their incredible energy and I would love to see it in person too. Describe them in 5 words Talent, funny, kind, cutie, harmony. Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias? This year during PLAY concert, leader DaeYeol announced his enlistment to the army and Goldenness made an event where they throwed airplane papers letter on stage. I was watching online with my bestfriend and we cried a lot. Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)? As I said, besides being talented they are funny guys. I would like to see people giving a chance for them. Once you know Golden Child, you won’t ever think on leaving them. They have all kinds of concepts, so if you like a cute and fresh or dark you won’t regret it. You can also add a message/letter to your bias or show it on a message scrapbook. Guys I’ve been here since the beginning and I’ll be here until the end. Each one of you have special talent which make all Goldenness love you guys a lot, 10 of you.
