There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Dalin from Syria is the next fan to answer our questions. She is a fan of TAN who debuted through the survival show “Extreme Debut: Wild Idol”. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? My name is Dalin, I’m from Syria. How and when did you enter the fandom? I was watching MBC’s “Extreme Debut: Wild Idol” and that’s how I got to know the group. What are the reasons why this rookie group is your favorite group? They are amazing and I feel confident when I see them on stage. Who caught your attention at first and why? Did you know any members prior to their debut? JiSeong is the first to catch my attention, he’s very kind and understanding too. Do you have a bias yet? If yes, tell us why. I am not biased towards anyone, I love all members and support them all. Do you like your fandom name? I think SODA is suitable, we don’t need another popular name!! What do you particularly like in this debut title track? Do you have a favorite B-side? I advise you to listen and watch ‘Louder’ because it is a great song. Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? My favorite songs lyrics are: “더 크게 소리 질러 더 울려 퍼지도록 세상을 향해서 Ready or not here we come” - ‘Louder’ What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life? I feel happy and would like to study the Korean language. Dalin’s message to TAN: I want to say this to all the members: stay well and don’t give up no matter how hard you go through you shouldn’t give up, sometimes one of the members may go through a difficult time I hope the rest of the members stay by his side and don’t let him alone, and also many idols blame themselves when they make a mistake on stage I want you not to do that even if you made a mistake on the stage, it’s okay. Life is not over yet. You have a long way ahead of you. You can do a lot and achieve greater successes. The important thing is that you stay well. We love you and we will stay with you. - Dalin is an Arab fan from Syria Thank you for answering our questions, Dalin.
