One of the leading boy groups of this generation, Stray Kids, recently revealed the music video for their pre-release Japanese single ‘Your Eyes’ out of their upcoming 2nd Japanese mini-album ‘Circus’, and it is straight out of a STAY’s dream fantasy. The members take turns to give us a romantic POV each, and it is every bit as charming, cinematic, and oh-so-lovely as we imagined it would be.
HyunJin starts off the relay with an adorable morning scene as the viewer (read: Y/N) walks into the bathroom while he is brushing his teeth. He carefully puts some toothpaste on another brush and hands it to Y/N before proceeding to look at them longingly. He fogs up the mirror and draws a heart on it, plays around, splashing water on Y/N, and also dries it off with a towel later on. The mood is bright, expressing a sense of joie de vivre.
Bang Chan comes next, and the setting is a music studio. He is working on something new and asks Y/N for advice. He shares his earphones with them so that they can have a listen together before moving on to songwriting. With 3RACHA being in charge of the lyrics and composition of the title track ‘Circus’ and Bang Chan doing the arrangement, this situation is rather realistic and hence, more immersive.
Bang Chan then passes us on to SeungMin, who looks sweeter than ever as he invites us on an outdoor coffee date. The shirt he’s wearing is most definitely made of boyfriend material, and his golden retriever energy is to die for. He can’t stop stealing glances at Y/N while listening attentively to what they have to say. Coffee is accompanied by books and lots of playful teasing. Talk about an ideal date!
Y/N meets Felix next, who welcomes them with a head pat. He is cooking pancakes and crepes but what draws special attention is the chef’s outfit. This is everything we could have asked for and more. Felix offers to feed Y/N, but as they’re about to take a bite, he takes it back and eats it himself. The smile he flashes afterward is totally worth it! To make up for it, he gently rubs off some crumbs from Y/N’s face, giving them a look of pure love.
It’s I.N’s turn next as you join him for some chores. What starts off as a simple task of leaving the clothes out to dry turns into a game of hide and seek, J-Drama style. I.N’s natural aegyo shines through as he wraps a blanket around himself but it soon becomes a heart-fluttering moment when he brings Y/N into his embrace.
As evening draws close, we meet ChangBin, who is preparing the grill for dinner outside. He has perfectly set up the date spot, complete with fairy lights and a cute little table. Despite struggling with the flame torch, he delivers a delectable meal, topping it off with a drink. He then ruffles Y/N’s hair endearingly, making us all wish for a significant other like him.
After dinner, we have a movie/gaming night with Han that leads to a popcorn fight. With how competitive Han is, he certainly doesn’t let you win in rock paper scissors, and the forehead flick that follows isn’t the softest either. However, he makes it all better with a tender forehead kiss. Now, you’re definitely going to want a rematch!
Finally, we end the day in the coziest way possible with Lee Know. After all, there couldn’t be a better way to conclude such an iconic date course than skincare, and Lee Know seems to have read Y/N’s mind! From putting cucumber slices on the face to playing peekaboo with those same slices, it doesn’t get better than this. Before you know it, he’s fixed on your eyes with the most soothing gaze as he listens to you talk about your day. Slowly and softly, you drift off to sleep, next to each other.
