Speaking of “Bittersweet”, WonHo revealed, “I wanted to express a mix of emotions, so bitter, yet sweet, exciting yet depressing. I believe our lives are filled with different emotions and they shape who we are.” This meaning comes through in the title track, ‘Don’t Regret’ where WonHo is jubilantly celebrating the present and looking back at the past with fondness rather than regret. The b-side track, on the other hand, features the up-and-coming K-Hip Hop artist YUNHWAY. On working with YUNHWAY, WonHo shared, “I’ve always liked YUNHWAY’s voice. And this song seemed like the perfect fit for her, so that’s how the collaboration came about. The process was very quick. She sent over her part the day after I sent her the music, and it was just perfect.” WonHo also mentioned his musical “Equal”, pointing out that it motivated him to take on new challenges, such as in his singing style, and those aspects can be found in his new single.
