The timeline in consideration for each article will be the span of 7 days, from Fridays to Thursdays. The Weekly Ranker article will be published every Friday. As an exception, in the case of this article, we will look at releases from 23rd September 2022 to 30th September 2022. Note: This ranker will not be based solely on the commercial success or popularity of the releases. However, we will open a poll at the end of each article where you can vote for the best release of the week. The best releases from each week will be compiled in a monthly article based only on your votes. Here are the top 5 K-Pop releases from the 4th week of September!
1. SEVENTEEN’s Jun - ‘Limbo’
If limbo looks this good, we wouldn’t mind staying in it forever. Jun’s ‘Limbo’ is a bewitching, cinematic masterpiece and musically stunning too! From the music video to the quality of production, the lyrics to Jun’s vocals, everything about this release is golden.
2. EXO’s Xiumin - ‘Brand New’
Xiumin delivers a bop unlike any other with ‘Brand New’, the title track of his 1st solo mini album of the same name. It is peppy, bright, and teeters on the line between retro and futuristic. It is lovely to see Xiumin doing what he does best, which is stealing our hearts with his music.
3. MIRAE - ‘Drip N’ Drop’
With Drip N’ Drop’, MIRAE has proved once again that the future of K-Pop is in more than capable hands. The energetic EDM elements are dynamic and addictive, amplifying the replay value of the song. This is classic MIRAE, and we just can’t get it out of our heads!
4. BIBI - ‘Animal Farm’
BIBI’s highly anticipated pre-release single from her upcoming album “Noir: The Lowlife Princess” titled ‘Animal Farm’ has taken the world by storm ever since its release. You might notice a Kill Bill-esque aesthetic or, more appropriately, nods to “Lady Vengeance” here and Bibi executes it, quite literally, with perfection. If this is just the tip of the iceberg, we cannot wait to see what the album will bring.
5. CRAVITY - ‘Party Rock’
CRAVITY’s ‘Party Rock’ lives up to its name in the fullest. It goes from a club banger to a youth drama OST and is perfectly vibrant throughout. This is the song you go to when you’re feeling blue and need a little pick-me-up. Needless to say, CRAVITY has hit the nail on the head once again. Note: The result article for the best K-Pop releases from the month of September, as determined by your votes, will be released on October 10, 2022.
